About PH

Pulmonary Hypertension is an unrecognized serious lung disease.  It causes high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs.

PH knows no boundaries, newborns, children, women (especially those of child bearing years) and men, of all ethnical groups are diagnosed. 

It can have devastating affects if left untreated.  There is no cure but treatment options are available.

Signs and symptoms include a combination of the following

-persistent unexplained shortness of breath with minimal exertion
-chest pain-especially when climbing stairs
-fatigue
-intolerance to exercise
-fainting
-dizzy spells
-swelling of the feet and ankles

Often there is no known cause for PH.  However, it can be diagnosed secondary to other diseases and familial (inherited).
